Summer Playground Programs-Full Six Weeks

Are you going to sit home all summer? Don't miss out on the fun! come and join us at the Playgrounds. Experience water days, talent shows, arts and crafts, games, sports and field trips each week. Play basketball, kickball, soccer and capture the flag!

Popcorn Kernels, Colonels and Super Colonels
  • Popcorn Kernels - Ages 4 to 6 - Gales Ferry School.
  • Colonels - Completed 1st and through 3rd grades - Location - Ledyard Center School.
  • Super Colonels - Entering 4th through 8th grades - Location - Colonel Ledyard Park.
  • You may register for the entire six week program or for Session I or II.
  • Each week will have theme with activities and special events based on the theme.
  • Children will take field trips each week to places like the movies, roller skating, a baseball game, and ice skating.
  • All field trips are an additional fee.
  • Our staff is trained in First Aid and CPR and is here to make your summer one you will not forget.
  • We encourage children with disabilities to participate. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Register between May 20 and June 7 and receive a $15 discount per child for the 6 week program only.
  • All Popcorn Kernels and Colonels must purchase a t-shirt to be worn on all field trips. Please make a separate check payment to "Ledyard Parks and Recreation" in the amount of $7.50.
  • Please provide a wallet size photo of your child.
  • NO PLAYGROUND JULY 4th and JULY 5th.
